SLAS - Site License Administration System

SLAS - Site License Administration System

The ATLAS.ti Site License Administration System (SLAS) is a convenient way for volume license holders (50+ users) to provide quick and easy access to the ATLAS.ti software for their students and/or employees.

The program specifically reduces work and saves cost on administrating multi-user ATLAS.ti licenses while offering maximum flexibility towards the users.

SLAS is available free of charge to help you administer the use and distribution of individual program copies.

Under the auspices of the Site License Administration System, students or employees can quickly access and use a full-featured copy of ATLAS.ti on their own personal computers, without purchasing it on their own.

The license holder remains in charge at all times by maintaining an overview of all its users through a convenient, fully automated online tracking system, available free of charge to organizations and corporations owning multi-user licenses.

How does it work?

It's simple! If your organization or corporation owns a multi user license for 50 or more users, you are automatically given free access to the SLAS system.

Individual users (students, employees, associates...) get to use the institution's ATLAS.ti software as part of this agreement. They are responsible to the license holder for proof of eligibility, proper use, and prompt return of the software and/or its access codes or serial numbers to the license holder.

User are handed a program CD, a Web address, and a special activation code. Using this code, they log onto a special Web page where they register themselves as SLAS Users.

Once the brief registration process is complete, they are automatically sent an email containing the ATLAS.ti serial number that will unlock the software for them. They can now install and use ATLAS.ti on their computer.

Once the set period of use expires, they must uninstall ATLAS.ti from their machines and "unregister" online, using the same URL and activiation code. After this official "log out," they are not allowed to continue to use the software. However, their license granting institution, the SLAS member institution, can issue a new activation code at this time, de facto extending the period of use.

Who can participate?

Site license holders from 50 users and up. Educational institutions, corporations, public institutions, and even third-sector organizations are either already participating or are currently planning to use the ATLAS.ti Site License Adminstration System.

Online System

Part of the SLAS Multi-User License is a complete online administration infrastructure that allows you to administer your institutional users.

Advantages

There is practically no administrative effort involved for SLAS member institutions! Our Site License Adminstration System allows for easy user monitoring and requires close to zero maintenance!

Responsibility for proper license check-in and check-out lies with the end-users, removing nearly all physical duties from local license administrators.

Yet, institutional license administrators are always in control. An easy-to-use Web interface lets local license holders monitor at all times the current status of each individual sub-license. You see at a glance if any of your users have overdrawn their time limit, if individual licenses are dormant, or even if non-authorized users are logged in.

Local administrators can then send notifications directly through the online system to all or to individual users.

The significant extra value of a comprehensive online administration system comes free of charge as part of the Site License Adminstration System.
