Brief History
A first prototype of ATLAS.ti was developed within the framework of the interdisciplinary research project ATLAS (1989-1992)
at the Technical University of Berlin. The project was initiated by the Department of Psychology under the leadership of Prof.
Dr. Dr. Heiner Legewie) and entailed close cooperation between computer scientists, psychologists, linguists, and future users.
