Concurrent Use

ATLAS.ti licenses are concurrent use licenses. This means that you can install them on more computers than the nominal license maximum, but at any given time, no more than the nominal license maximum can be in use.

For single user licenses, we allow TWO installations per license; for example, one on the office computer, one on your personal notebook.

Similarly, on multi-user licenses, the number of admissible installations is DOUBLE that of the nominal license maximum. For example, a 30-user license allows for installations on up to 60 individual computers, under the condition that the license holder takes appropriate measures to limit simultaneous use to a maximum of 30 at any given time. This maximum includes standalone, networked, server-based, and "work-at-home" installations. Example scenario: a 30-user license would permit 10 users to install the software on up to two of their personal computers each, and up to 40 individual installations would be allowed in a server-based configuration.

The concurrent use license model gives our license holders an extremely high degree of freedom and flexibility, and is highly suitable for typical ATLAS.ti application scenarios. Warning: Exceeding the license maximum will lead to revocation of the entire license for all individual installations, potentially putting ongoing work and projects in jeopardy.
