Multi-User Licenses - Lease

Your institution or enterprise with 5 or more users is seeking a cost-effective alternative to license purchasing. Leasing an ATLAS.ti license helps you reduce administrative efforts and allows for flexible adaption to your organization's actual needs. This cost-effective licensing model includes all support services and well as all updates and upgrades of the software. Fees are based on the number of concurrent users and are payable annually.

Financial Benefits

Total cost over three years equal 90% plus interest savings (approximately 7% in three years) vis-a-vis the purchase model. Effective saving thus come to approx. 17%. A license lease can be terminated at any time, effective by the end of a year. After termination, the license must not no longer be used. However, a leased license can be converted into a purchased and fully owned license at any time . Read more below.

Converting to Purchased License

If after some time during the license lease you decide to switch to a fully owned license model while continuing to use the current version and without further annual payment, the ATLAS.ti license lease model can accommodate this as well.

At the end of each year during the lease contract, a single additional one-time payment converts the software into a fully owned model.

The one-time payment equals:

• triple the annual licensing fee at the end of the first year of the lease;
• double the annual licensing fee at the end of the second year of the lease;
• one single annual licensing fee at the end of the third year of the lease;
• one single annual licensing fee at the end of all subsequent years of the lease.

Should you wish to convert the leased license into a fully owned license during the first year of the lease, all you need to pay is three annual fees. During the second year of lease, this amount is only equal to two annual fees, and while from the third year on the total is always only equal to one annual feee.

A license converted to the fully owned model can be used indefinitely and it includes all additional benefits and services of a regular purchased license.

License Administration and Tracking

To simplify license administration and tracking on the part of our customers, ATLAS.ti makes available SLAS, a web application that helps you to minimize your adminstrative efforts vis-a-vis the actual users, i.e. your employees and/or students. SLAS is a convenient way to allow your users quick access to invidual serial numbers for installation, and it helps you to keep track of the individual copies of the software given out to users. A web-based check-in/check-out system keeps administrative hassles completely away from your staff and still lets you easily monitor all your individual copies of the software--on campus as well as for work-at-home scenarios. SLAS is available free of charge to institutions with more than 50 users.
